Working in partnership with Samsung, htm are pleased to announce the arrival of Samsung’s WiFi and Telephony solution at Ambassadors Bloomsbury in London. It being the first hotel to take this complete integrated wireless solution which incorporates telephony from Samsung’s Officeserv product and the integration of Samsung’s Galaxy products for management, housekeeping and maintenance. All of this being delivered over Samsung’s wireless technology and managed by htm.
We are pleased to announce that The Cavendish London has signed and renewed its maintenance contract with htm for a further 2 years. This important piece of business demonstrates the work our dedicated engineers have delivered in the past and we look forward to our future working relationship with all the team at The Cavendish. Thank You. www.thecavendish-london.co.uk

htm are pleased to be asked to take over the support of HSIA / WiFi infrastructure and install new ANTlabs E Series Internet Gateway servers in these last two sites in September 2014, which means that htm will then support all Jurys Inn sites in the UK and Ireland. We have been working on many changes to the Jurys Inn Internet “landing page” or “portal page” during the last year or so and a lot of work has been tied into our Client Dashboard so that the delivery of the service can be monitored 24/7.
Guest Internet usage has rocketed in recent years and the ability to tailor the whole internet solution to the needs of large hotels has changed. The ANTlabs servers allow Jurys Inn Group to provide dedicated bandwidth to conference users, if required, or even VIP guests or Loyalty Programme members and it is the flexibility with which we can create different login pages for different types of user, combined with powerful reporting tools, that makes the difference.
As ever, we will conduct a WiFi heat-map survey of the bedroom floors as part of the installation and the whole installation will be set up so that we can monitor on a 24/7 basis as part of our support agreement.
In line with a major rebranding exercise for htm, following our change of name in 2012, we are pleased to launch our new website and our Client Dashboard. The nature of the business that htm is capable of Delivering and Supporting in 2014 is very different from even a few years ago.
We are now able to truly provide a one-stop shop solution for hotels wanting to outsource all guest and administration communication technologies without subcontracting to third parties –something that Hotels and GM’s have been looking to find for years. We have been cross-training our engineers over the last few years with the aim of building a company that is truly able to support multiple technologies.
In order to meet this challenge and, with an ever-changing move to Wireless or IP-based technologies, we needed to be able to provide a meaningful way of proving our value…
Over the last two years and at the request of our largest customer, we have been creating a “Client Dashboard”. This final part of our service jigsaw, our “Reporting” tool, allows IT Managers, General Managers and FOH Managers to see current status of their networks (this can cover Admin Networks, WiFi Network, Broadband Circuits, information and reporting on WiFi usage (to be able to make informed decisions on how much bandwidth is required, for example), information and reporting on all Tech Support tickets across all our technologies, Guest WiFi Support as well as a host of other subjects. Htm has recently completed new Mitel 3300 Telephone System installations in Citadines Barbican, Trafalgar, Holborn and South Kensington. Underpinning the whole exercise was a cost-reduction study on the number of DDI numbers and telephone lines that had accumulated in the sites over the last decade or so. Htm offered to rationalise and slim down all unnecessary / unwanted numbers, this being an exercise that every hotel needs to carry out from time to time. The resulting savings were significant.
The new telephone systems have been linked together with IP networking technology so desk-to-desk dialling can be achieved over the internet. SIP trunks have also been installed to allow the four hotels to go through a secondary phase of ISDN30 cost-reduction in 2015 whereby all remaining Direct Dial numbers or main numbers can be moved across to SIP trunks, away from ISDN30.
In late 2013, VTech Communications entered into an agreement with Purple Networks Ltd, based in a new warehouse location in Ipswich, to stock and distribute their new range of Guest Room telephones across Europe and Africa.
htm is now able to source VTech Guest Room phones from Purple Networks for its own clients across Europe. Many of the world’s leading Hotel Groups (as well as leading Independent Hotels) have chosen VTech telephones over the last year or so and the contemporary design does seem to have made VTech the favoured product. One of the products that is really unique is their Petite phone – it is perfect for nightstands / small bedside tables or for small desks.
VTech is the largest manufacturer of DECT Cordless telephones in the world and have created fantastic range of Cordless products (Analogue and SIP) that look and feel far better than anything else on the market.
